Minnesota Team Finishes in Top 10

The USGA Women's State Team Championship was played at The Landings Club, Palmetto Course in Savannah GA, October 4-6. Minnesota's team tied for 9th with New York out of 51 teams that participated. Minnesota was represented by Olivia Lansing, Leigh Klasse and Kristin Wagner, with Rose Hermodson serving as captain. The home team of Georgia won the championship. This was only the second time that a home state team won. The last time was when Minnesota won as the host state in 2001.
This was the 8th time that Leigh Klasse earned a spot on the team and the first time for Olivia and Kristen. Team members are selected based on points earned from tournament competition in the previous two years.

Message from the President
 Autumn greetings, MWGA members and friends! Yes, it's really me back in the MWGA President's seat. For those of you who don't know, Joan Archer has decided to move full-time to Arkansas and she resigned as MWGA President as of the end of the first year of her term. The MWGA Board appointed me to serve the second year of Joan's term as president. I'm sure you join me in thanking Joan for all she's done for the MWGA and in wishing her all the best in Arkansas where she hopes to find a job in the (year-round) golf industry there.
There have been other changes in the Board of Directors as well. We have bid farewell to Nancy Syverson who served three years as Tournaments Director. Thank you so much, Nancy, for your help. We welcome President-Elect, Dar Bell, and Co-Tournaments Directors Sandy Hanna and Krista Larsen. Your entire Board is a thoughtful and hard-working group who are devoted to the MWGA.
